Description
This silver sceat coin was commissioned by the Anglo-Saxon ruler “Beonna” who was king of East Anglia. It was produced in 749 A.D. and is infamously known as the first silver penny of east Anglia. It is particularly rare as only 6 of these silver pennies have ever been found. It features an interlaced quatrefoil design with central pellet, and three pellets in each angle.------
