    Description

    Columbus Landing in Puerto Rico
In reality Columbus in his first trip mostly visited Caribbean islands rather than
land destined to become the United States soil, the coast of Puerto Rico.
But on his second trip to the New World in 1493
navigator did touch briefly the coast of Puerto Rico.
    T
he commemorative stamp shows two ships anchored off-shore.
I's a peaceful looking picture, but it symbolized a momentous change
that would soon transform world history.
