This is a military surplus item.  It appears to be in issued condition but does not appear to have been in the field.  Looks like it probably remained in garrison until turn in.   There may some marks, rubs, etc., on it from depot and /or warehouse storage.  But no significant markings, wear, or damage to indicate it was ever in  the field.  All seams, zippers, zipper pulls, straps, buckles, etc,. are intact and functional.  This unit has no waist belt.  Apparently waist belt was a separate NSN.  Pack and belt were separated upon turn in.  It is as it would have been issued to a Special Forces Operator.  This is a jumpable assault pack. This backpack was developed for a military client who wanted his people to parachute with a HARRIS SATCOM. I think this bag will even survive a jump without a parachute – though the end user might not carry the same benefit. It’s huge and heavy.  Still, even with all the weight this backpack is very comfortable to carry.
So, if you look for a workhorse of backpack: this is the bag for you. Several outside-pockets, no MOLLE webbing (it’s for parachuting, remember?), integrated rain-cover on the bottom of the pack, outlets for the SATCOM’s antenna/cable, two large antenna-pockets on the side, pockets for storing the jump-straps, and sturdy enough for anything… It also has some nice features like two internal pouches that are attached with loops and Velcro, so nothing can wobble around. Another plus is the internal frame that keeps the bag in shape, even if it is empty.
This auction is for a BattleLab (aka Diamondback Tactical) backpack. This pack is the real deal- made in the USA, designed for and sold to the military, built for ruggedness and dependability in the field. The BattleLab "Jumpable" Backpack is designed for forward observation/communications patrolling. The large main compartment, measuring 12"W x 21"L x 9"D, includes a hydration sleeve with internal frame to accommodate up to a 100 oz. bladder. On the inside front of the main compartment are one or two removable pouches measuring 9"Wx 5"L x 1"D and 7"W x 5"L x 1"D. The front exterior of the pack includes two additional pockets. The upper pocket is 2.5"D x 9"W x 13"L, with a slot pocket. The lower pocket is 2.5"D x 10"W x 8"L. Both pockets, as well as the slot pocket, have at least one interior side in coyote tan material to reflect ambient light. The main interior pocket includes two straps with sturdy buckle fasteners for securing a laptop computer or other gear. Each side of the pack features a 7"W x 18"L x 1"D slot pocket that is expandable. On the top sides of the pack, behind the bellows slot pockets,
there are two additional slot pockets that run the full length of the bellows slot pockets. Also on the top of the pack, behind the main grab handle, there is a radio port to access the main compartment. The grab handle wraps around the entire pack in one continuous piece for incredible strength and durability. The bottom of the pack includes a storage pocket measuring 5"W x 9"L x 1.5"D, for housing a reversible rain fly.  The internal sleeve pocket and face pocket are finished in coyote tan fabric to reflect ambient light into the interior of the pack, making its contents more visible. There are also two internal hangers for communication equipment.  Built with ergonomics in mind, this model comes with adjustable shoulder straps, a cushioned back, and additional padding near the lumbar area.The pack's weight when empty is approximately 8 pounds.  USA bidders only, please.
