SCANDINAVIAN SWORD PENNY - Graphite Coin Mold

Description

This coin was found with the discovery of the Eboracum hoard of Anglo-Saxon and Viking silver pennies.
It gives a fascinating insight into the fusing of cultures between the Vikings and Northumbrians in 927 A.D., which is illustrated clearly by the Viking sword bearing the Christian cross on the handle.
