SERPENT COIN 0F PHILETAIROS - Graphite Coin Mold

Description

This coin was originally struck in bronze in the city of Pergamon in Mysia, which is an ancient province in the northwest of Asia Minor on the shore of the Aegean Sea (the ancient Greek name for the Marmara Sea).
On his first voyage to Europe (Acts 16:7-8) the apostle Paul himself passed through this province and embarked from its chief port Troas. [Circa 158-138 B.C.]
