VIKING HAMMER PENNY - Graphite Coin Mold

Description

The coin was minted during the reign of Sihtric Caoch the Conqueror, who sat on the throne over Dublin and Northumberlan for six years between 921-927AD. It is speculated that because there was no lack of common currency at the time, Sihtric minted his own coins, this one included, solely to reinforce his authority.
