Vintage Metal Barrette With Stamped Scene. Shipped with USPS First Class.
A very unusual but very detailed piece. This is a vintage ladies hair clip that appears to be made of brass. THE CLIP IS MISSING. It is so striking I am sure someone will either want to repair it or repurpose it. The design is stamped and is vertical. If you look closely, the gentleman is dressed nicely with a coat that has lapels and is wearing a Derby type hat. He is driving an open high wheel carriage with a coach light. He is holding onto the reins of the two horses pulling the carriage and he also holds a whip. There are three sections to the barrette, two small sections on the ends and a larger section in the center, and the same design is on all three. The piece is dark with the highlights in gold. It measures 3 7/16” long and 1 7/16” at the widest point. I could not find a brand or other mark on this, perhaps it was on the clip at one time, but it is definitely an older piece. I am sure someone handy could do something really nice with this.
Note: The light is hitting the bottom section in the photo. Those lighter areas are really dark in color.
